Choir Performances This Week (2/22/2010)

The Leschi Elementary School Choir has 4 performances scheduled for this week. Three of these performances will occur during school hours, and the fourth will be at the school's Black History - African American History celebration on Thursday night. There are no extra rehearsals scheduled this week - Tuesday and Thursday mornings only.

1. The Wednesday 24th performance will be at Hawthorne Elementary School during school hours - students will leave Leschi by bus around 1:30pm and return around 3pm in time for regularly scheduled pick-up. Students should already have returned a permission slip for this trip.

2. The Black History celebration performance will occur at the end of Thursday night's presentations in the school lunchroom (2/25/2010). Parents should drop their students in their classrooms at 6:15pm and then proceed to the lunchroom, where the night's entertainment will commence at 6:30pm. (Students will have seen other classes perform earlier in the day - space considerations in the evening necessitate the classroom arrangement). Classes will take it in turn to perform/present their material, and the event will culminate in the choir performance. While the exact timing is TBD, Mrs Cavitt expects that parent volunteers will visit classrooms at around 7:10pm to remind choir students to gather at the lunchroom for the performance. If you are interested in volunteering to help out, please let Mrs Cavitt know.

3. There will be a double field trip on Friday 2/22/2010. The choir will perform at Greenlake Elementary School, and will then perform at Northgate Elementary School. You should expect to receive a permission slip for this field trip from your child after the field trip on Wednesday. Please make sure that you return it promptly (preferably at choir practice on Thursday morning). Students will return to the school for regular pick-up.
