Leschi School Choir Field Trip 10/9 - Important Information

Dear Leschi Choir Parents,

As you know, our second performance for the year will take place this week, on Friday, October 9. Because the school will be closed for a professional development day, please take note of these additional details.

• Please have your child at school by 10:30am, wearing navy bottoms and white tops. The choir will meet in the staff room (students know where this is). Lunch will be provided, so there is no need to pack it. Make sure that you have returned a permission slip, complete with your phone number on the side – in general, these need to be returned BEFORE the day of the field trip.

• The bus leaves the school at 11am, and will return to the school at 2pm. Please pick up your child promptly at 2pm.

• The choir will sing from 12-12:20, and will then be served lunch. If you would like to pick your child up from the performance you can pick them up at the end of lunch, around 1pm – please wait in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 721 Pine St (near 7th). If you pick up your child, you MUST his or her name checked off by Mrs Cavitt before you leave.

Chaperones / Parental Attendance
We could use 3 extra chaperones, in addition to those who have already volunteered – please phone ASAP if you are able to help. Because of the nature of the event, there will be limited space for parents to attend this performance – please contact Mrs Cavitt if you would like to do so. In order to chaperone field trips, you MUST have completed a school volunteer form, and had your photo ID (for example, driver’s license) checked by the office for a background check – forms are available at the school office. This ensures the safety of all of our children.

Before and After Performance
While it is not encouraged, if you need to leave your child earlier in the day you may do so. Please phone Mrs Cavitt Thursday to let her know to expect your child early, and send the authorization form below with your child (you can cut and paste, or just hand write a letter with the information). Children who have arranged to arrive early should wait for Mrs Cavitt at the school office. Similarly, should you be unable to collect your child promptly at 2pm, please fill in the form, and let Mrs Cavitt know when you will pick up (no later than the usual end of school).
