Choir to sing at April 22nd Seattle Center 50th Anniversary Celebration

The Seattle Center is turning 50 this year, and at this weekend's celebration, the Leschi Choir will be performing!

On Sunday, April 22, the choir will be performing on the Center House stage.

Choir members should meet at the Center House at 1pm. Look for Ms. Cavitt (she will have a sign). The performance starts at 2pm and will go until 2.30!

Kids should wear blue pants (jeans ok) and a white shirt or your Leschi shirt.

This is an historic event - hope to see you all there!

No Choir Rehearsal Tomorrow Morning!!

Due to illness, there will be no choir rehearsal tomorrow morning (Tuesday 2/28). We apologize for any inconvenience!!

Upcoming Choir Performance - Save the Date!

As in previous years, the Leschi Choir will perform at the Leschi Community Council's annual holiday party on Saturday December 3rd. The party is a potluck (you are welcome to attend!), and will take place at the Central Area Senior Center (500 30th Ave. S.) Choir members should arrive at 5:30pm for a performance starting at 6pm - the performance should take approximately 25 minutes. Please note that there is no transportation provided for this performance - you will need to bring your child/ren. Because Mrs Cavitt needs to leave promptly after the performance (it's her birthday!) please plan to wait for your child/ren, or be available to collect them promptly at around 6:25pm. No uniform required - dress up for the holidays!

Leschi Choir Performance Televised

Mrs Cavitt has informed me of the unexpected death last week of Dr. Richard Koehler, the founder and director of the Bel Canto Singers. The Leschi Choir had the privilege of singing under Dr. Koehler's direction last month at the Daniels Recital Hall downtown, accompanying Bel Canto in a performance of "Lo Yissa Goy."

A memorial service celebrating Dr. Koehler's life will be aired on television, and will include footage of the Leschi Choir's performance this year. The service will air on Comcast Channel 77 and Broadstripe Channel 29 at the following times:

Thursday, November 17th at 6:30pm
Sunday, November 20th at 6:30pm
Tuesday, November 22nd at 3:30pm.

Apparently the service will also air in 51 other cities in the USA (no details currently available).

Performance This Week!

Hello, Choir Families.

Just a reminder that the choir is performing for the Lawyers Helping Hungry Children luncheon this Thursday. This group does excellent work, and the choir has performed for them on numerous occasions. The children will leave school by bus at around 9:45 and return at around 12:30. The performance will be at the Hilton Hotel downtown, and lunch will be provided. If you have not yet done so, please RETURN YOUR PERMISSION FORM - if your child did not receive a form, please contact Mrs Cavitt and we will get one to you. 2nd grade parents please note - because your children will be attending a mandatory rehearsal on Thursday morning for their ballet recital, they will unfortunately be unable to attend this choir performance.
