Choir field trips in January 2011 for MLK Celebrations

There are two scheduled field trips for the choir this week to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr:

• Thursday Jan 13th - at TOPS School
• Monday Jan 17th - at Garfield H.S. for the rally

Students should wear their school uniform (navy bottoms and white tops) for both.

Parent consent forms need to be turned in to Mrs Cavitt! Make sure that you have returned them, complete with your phone number on the side.

If you have questions, want to chaperone, or make special arrangements for your child, call Mrs Cavitt at 206-390-3333.


Thursday Jan 13th - at TOPS School

• The bus leaves Leschi school at 1:00 pm, and will return to Leschi at 2:45pm.

• Students will need to bring a sack lunch!
  

Monday Jan 17th - at Garfield H.S. for the MLK rally

• Monday the 17th is not a school day! But transportation to the concert will be from Leschi and will return to Leschi.

• The bus will leave Leschi at 9:45 am, and return to Leschi at 12:45 pm.

• Mrs Cavitt prefers that all children use the bus to the event that will leave and return to Leschi. This means children are to be dropped off at school on time and be picked up promptly. If you wish to have your child attend the rally, but not use the bus either for getting to or returning from the rally, you MUST arrange this in advance with Mrs Cavitt. Do not take your child after the performance without advising Mrs Cavitt that you are doing so!

• The choir will sing twice at the rally - once at the start (around 11 am) and once at the end (around noon). This will be in the gymnasium.
  

• We could use extra chaperones, in addition to those who have already volunteered – please phone ASAP if you are able to help. Because of the nature of the event, there will be limited space for parents on the bus – so please contact Mrs Cavitt if you would like to do so. In order to chaperone field trips, you MUST have completed a school volunteer form, and had your photo ID (for example, driver’s license) checked by the office for a background check – forms are available at the school office. This ensures the safety of all of our children.

• Remember, if you want to be a part of the MLK march with your child that is after the rally and the singing, you must arrange this with Mrs Cavitt in advance!
